Land administration: cadastre and land assessment

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

Land administration projects make up a major concern in numerous countries, given what they represent and what is at stake. Major donors are often mobilised because these projects aim to bring stability, new developments in land markets and transparency of land values to the system.
Geographic information is an essential component of land administration through the collection and updating of cadastral data and through the development of information systems that allow the management of land activity.

IGN France International offers solutions adapted to each encountered problem, from project management assistance in all technical and legal fields to actual project completion, implementation and monitoring.
We would also like to point out its privileged relationship with the French General Management of Public Finances (DGFiP).

Serbia and Montenegro • Land assessment project

Nicaragua • Supervision and production of cadastral works

IGN France International supervised cadastral work for the departement of Chinandega. The goal of this supervision was to verify the work completed by a Spanish company on a topographical and legal level.
IGN France International also produced cadastral data over the provinces of Esteli and Madriz. This realisation necessitated the creation of an entity that regrouped more than 200 local topographers and legal assistants, all of whom were trained by IGN France International.

Tunisia • Elaboration of a new Land Information System

Namibia • Installation of a land assessment application

This project was developed in order to meet the needs of Tunisia who wished to modernise its knowledge, management and value of its land heritage.
In close collaboration with the DGFiP, IGN France International developed a LIS (Land Information System) that includes a management tool for land titles, and also integrates a geographic component, a digital cadastral reference between the land information and an open architecture for dfferent organisations that manage the territorie's data

IGN France International developed a land assessment application for the Namibian MLR (Ministry of Lands and Ressettlement). The CAMA-type application(Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal), is software permitting the automatic calculation of land values. It is used both for the calculation of land values and real estate.
IGN France International provided an application of this kind to the Namibian department of Land Assessment who wished to establish a transparent and faire land tax, based solely on agricultural 'commercial' lands
